Since 2010, the LIFE CODE Diagnostic Laboratory has been accredited with the international quality standards ISO 15189:2022 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017, awarded by the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) for clinical laboratories. Furthermore, from 2022 has been acredited with ISO 27001:2022.
LIFE CODE consistently participates in international external quality assessment schemes such as the European Molecular Genetics Quality Network (EMQN), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), UKNEQAS, RfB, INSTAND, NHS, and GEDNAP, ensuring that our genetic testing services continually meet the highest global standards for accuracy and reliability.
ISO 15189:2022 Accreditation
LIFE CODE Medical Ltd. is officially accredited by ESYD under:
ISO 15189:2022 (Medical Laboratories – Requirements for Quality and Competence), and
ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories)
These accreditations cover a wide range of diagnostic fields, including: Conventional Cytogenetics, Molecular Cytogenetics, Molecular Oncology, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Microbiology and Molecular Analysis for Paternity and Kinship Determination.
Our registration with ESYD includes Certificate Numbers 687 and 793, confirming the laboratory’s status as both a Clinical Laboratory and a Testing Laboratory, with valid and regularly renewed certificates.
The international standard ISO 15189 (Medical laboratories – Particular requirements for quality and competence) defines the specific requirements for quality and technical competence of clinical laboratories in healthcare. Its application minimizes the possibility of errors in analytical, pre-analytical, and post-analytical procedures.

ISO 27001:2022
ISO 27001:2022 is a standard for information security management that covers three main areas: information security, cybersecurity, and privacy protection. The standard sets out requirements and guidelines for the implementation, operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
The goal of ISO 27001:2022 is to help manage risks related to information collected by LIFE CODE, protecting it from threats such as malicious access, data leakage, destruction, and loss.
